MYRA REVEALS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NEW ALBUM, "UNIQ"
Myra, tell us why you named your upcoming album Uniq and the inspiration behind it.
Myra:
I have always wanted to do my own thing, do songs that come from deep within. I had the opportunity to do just that this time around - explore my roots and all my musical influences. I also gathered inspiration from my past experiences. I recently became a mother, lost my dad to Diabetes, moved to another country.... There just seemed to be a lot to tap from. I am excited to share it with you all.
I named the album Uniq because I feel that it is a unique blend of my music influences. It is different from my last album in that it features more of my Cameroonian cultural heritage while still maintaining my R & B influences

Is it true that you are expecting your second child and simultaeneously promoting the new album? Are you expecting a boy or a girl?
Myra:
That is correct. Hey! People find ways to multi-task all the time. I'm no different. I have to constantly find ways to attend to my family who are my priority and still do what I love, which is doing music. It does get hectic with little ones running all around when we are trying to record but i wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.
With another on the way, it will only get tougher but the good news is, we have the ability to adjust to changing circumstances.
